Staines RFC Golf Society

Since Oct.2007, the golf society has been visiting Prestigious Golf Clubs in our Area.
The Staines RFC Golf Society, has opened the Gates of Golf Clubs like Burhills, West Hills, St Georges Hills, Foxhills, and shortly to be arranged, Beverley Hills!
Matches are played every 6-8 weeks. Stapleford Rules are applied to a players' handicap, to ensure everybody has a fair crack of the prizes, on offer.
The purpose of a Society is to negotiate a package price that is usually less than the price of a round of golf. Included in that package, would be breakfast, 18 holes, prizes, and a post match meal.
This normally requires a minimum of 12 players to attend and we regularly achieve 18-20 golfers. Also with a Society, no Handicap Certificates are required. However, a dedicated starter will often be in attendance who will require a semblance of playing ability.
Dress code is an occasional issue, but it is a small price to pay to play some of the finest courses in Surrey.
On the subject of price I have a target price of £50-£65 per player, in the summer, and £40-£50 in the winter, catering included, in a 3 ballformat. Experienced players are on hand to check score cards and help new members.
Former 1st team Captain Ron Pettifor has set up a dedicated web site, where records are kept and players, can list or de-list themselves for upcoming events.
